Overview
The DigiMax DP88 8-Channel A/D/A Convertor with Remote Preamps from PreSonus PreSonus is the latest innovation in the DigiMax line and offers digitally controlled analogue preamps and unmatched digital conversion up to 96 kHz. It can be used to provide connectivity, flexibility, and professional sound quality that make it a suitable fit for any studio environment.
The DigiMax DP88 features Burr-Brown convertors that deliver 118 dB of dynamic range and a clock that delivers sub-50 picosecond jitter to capture complex musical harmonics smoothly and naturally. Eight digitally controlled analogue XMAX preamps provide high headroom, low noise, wide dynamic range and extended frequency response.
In addition, the DigiMax DP88 is equipped with MIDI I/O for easy remote control from anywhere using simple MIDI CC messages to control level, phantom power, and direct ADC input. It fits into any DAW environment and connects to your MIDI interface to enable it as a MIDI device. Start remote controlling your preamps and recalling settings with your audio sessions.
Some other features include access to the preamps using XLR or DB25 connections. There are eight-direct analogue-to-digital line-level inputs on DB25 connectors and they can be accessed per channel with a front panel button and allows you to keep all of your gear connected at the same time. Eight DAC outputs are provided via DB25 and eight channels of ADAT/dual SMUX optical I/O are available with up to a 96 kHz sample rate.
Finally, the DigiMax DP88 provides Class A microphone preamps, Burr-Brown convertors with 118 dB of dynamic range, a boast-worthy digital clock with sub-50 picosecond jitter, and flexible connection options to make it a nice fit in any studio environment.
