About the Shure Nexadyne™ 2
The Nexadyne 2 Kick Drum Microphone is a supercardioid dynamic microphone for professional performance. The Nexadyne 2 is designed specifically to maximize the frequency range of the kick drum and other lower-frequency instruments using patented Shure Revonic™ dual-engine transducer technology, with 2 precisely calibrated transducers working together to achieve optimal performance. The result is a compact Shure dynamic cartridge that combines state-of-the-art acoustic signal processing, exceptional supercardioid polar pattern linearity, and mechanical noise reduction.
The Nexadyne 2 is built with the consistency, durability, and performance that only Shure can provide and comes with a zipper pouch.

What is Revonic Transducer Technology?
Revonic Technology uses two matched transducers to improve microphone performance. The transducers—mechanically identical and electrically out of phase—cancel out unwanted vibrations and provide vivid clarity. Revonic transducers provide several benefits:

Minimized mechanical and handling noise.
Consistent polar pattern, strong off-axis rejection, and reduced stage bleed. Your sound can cut through the mix.
Authentic, acoustically tuned output that requires less external EQ and signal processing.

The top transducer captures acoustical signal with increased isolation and clarity.
The bottom transducer is wired to the top for more controlled polar pattern and cancellation of mechanical noise.

Set Up the Nexadyne 2
Place the microphone inside or in front of the kick drum head.

Tips

Start by placing mic a few inches away from the beater head or inside the drum port. Listen and experiment with the angle and placement of the mic until you find the sound you want.
To emphasize lower frequencies, move the mic closer to the sound source.
To emphasize higher frequencies, move the mic farther from the sound source.
Make sure microphone does not touch drum head or damping inside of the drum.

Load Impedance
For the microphone’s signal to transfer well, the load/input impedance of your preamplifier should be at least 1000 Ω. Most modern microphone preamplifiers meet this requirement.
